What you’ll do: 

Are you passionate about supporting young people’s well-being, helping them achieve independence, and shaping their future? We are seeking a dedicated Learning Coach to work closely with learners, providing one-to-one mentoring and pastoral care to help them overcome challenges, build confidence, and work towards their personal, academic, and independent living goals. You will play a key role in supporting their emotional, social, and academic development, fostering an inclusive environment where they can thrive.

In this role, you will design and implement strategies to encourage attendance, positive behaviour, and full participation in learning activities. By focusing on each learner’s well-being, independence, and individual needs, you will empower them to take charge of their future and build the skills needed to succeed.

ACT is committed to promoting the Welsh language for both staff and learners, and whilst it is not considered essential criteria, the ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this role. 

What we are looking for:

  1. Proven experience of working with disengaged young people and/or those with additional learning needs in a training/education or youth work setting
  2. Experience of supporting Wellbeing and personal development of learners. 
  3. Experience of working with 16–19-year-old in work based learning setting.
  4. Learning Coach qualification
  5. Qualification in youth work (desirable)
  6. Good level of Math and English GCSE C or above (spoken and written)
  7. Able to build good strong relationships with young people
  8. Able to relate to the needs of young people
  9. Committed to empowering young people and shaping their future
  10. Able to work well with people at all levels
  11. Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  12. Well organised
  13. Excellent IT skills with programmes such as Microsoft Office, Word and Excel
  14. Willingness and ability to be flexible
  15. Team player with ability to work on own initiative
