The Receptionist Apprentice will provide a professional and welcoming front-of-house service, acting as the first point of contact for visitors, learners, employers and colleagues across ACT. The role requires a friendly, proactive and customer-focused approach, building positive relationships while ensuring all enquiries are handled efficiently and professionally.
The successful candidate will support the day-to-day operation of the reception function, including greeting visitors, answering and directing telephone calls, maintaining reception records. They will play an important role in creating a positive experience for everyone who engages with ACT.
Reporting to the Senior Receptionist, this full-time role is based at ACT’s Head Office, Ocean Park House, Cardiff.
As part of their apprenticeship programme, the successful candidate will be supported to achieve a relevant Level 3 qualification in Business Administration or Customer Service, developing the knowledge, skills and experience needed for a successful career in administration and customer service. They will be encouraged to demonstrate professionalism, effective communication, attention to detail and a positive attitude, while contributing to a collaborative and supportive working environment.

What you’ll do:
Greet Visitors, staff, and customers in a professional and friendly manner.
Answer incoming telephone calls and direct enquiries to the appropriate person or department.
Ensure the reception area remains tidy, welcoming and well organised.
Receive, sort and distribute incoming post and deliveries.
Book meeting rooms and support the coordination of meetings and events.
Maintain accurate records, databases, and filing systems.
Provide excellent customer service to internal and external stakeholders.
Assist with maintaining confidentiality and handling sensitive information appropriately.
Work towards completing the relevant apprenticeship qualification while applying learning in the work place.
